Cross-Cultural Communication Understanding in Business and Economics ESP Teaching

Language teaching should have portions for cultural reviews and studies that are relevant to the topics learners’ needs. This research was qualitative descriptive aimed describe cross-cultural understanding implementation in business economic ESP class. It is significant class realization toward aspect since findings expected enhance future preparation. Better cultural-based-prepared material believed bring a better social impact on learners. Lecturers’ students’ perspectives based several interviews were basis final finding construction. Three English lecturers involved. Snowball sampling method employed resulting 40 students involved interviews. In context of economics Universitas Putra Bangsa, provided related verbal i.e. level words, phrases, clauses, sentences. The above levels introduced by with contextual approaches. Students more strategic-applicable utterances daily communication workplace setting. Lecturers delivered general importance non-verbal form kinesics (eye contact gesture), proxemics, artifactual Kinesics prominent, while proxemics least prepared. found practical activities interesting challenging.
